To ensure the efficient use of members’ funds
How Do I Qualify?
Membership in the Credit Union for at least 3 months. This may be waived however subject to the member paying a premium consisting of the applicable rate plus 4% for the first 3 months of the loan, after which the applicable rate will apply.
Loan to share ratio up to a maximum of 8:1 for the time being
Borrower has no delinquency on existing credit union loans
Surplus after expenses including debt servicing should not be less than 5% of gross income.
Purpose and collateral specified
Minimum deposit of $2000 per month must be made towards the member’s share capital during the life of the loan
Deposit accounts held with the Credit Union will not be considered as qualifying share for loan evaluation. However, members will not be penalized for transferring funds from fixed deposits to shares, if he deposit has been with the Credit Union for at least 3 months.
